Get Chrome or forget Flash

Basically, Flash won't be supported on Linux unless using the Chromium browser. Yet another nail in the coffin of Flash. Hopefully, Adobe will continue to shoot this project.

CSS 3 Reference

I just stumbled onto some pretty good CSS3 border rounding info on http://www.css3.info/ and it looks like they've got lots of info on CSS3 goodies in general. Check em out!

Too Bad for Street View

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Fri, 01/27/2012 - 12:41

Also, StreetView - requires Flash. I don't know how the heck to make it work w/o Flash involved but I'm sure that Google can figure it out.

Maybe they could use server side generated SVG images or WebM videos.

Azteca Does it Too!

Curses! Everywhere we go this Flash thing is still around.
Die already!

Most recently found that the Azteca web site requires Flash.
Even if viewed with Flash enabled (booo!) the Happy Hour information is not available.

They've got a pretty neat video management system, but even their CMS portion of the site requires flash.
Completely unable to do anything without Flash with guys.

AfterNic requires Flash - Failure Redirect :(

Submitted by root on Tue, 01/17/2012 - 14:06

If you use AfterNic beware that you will be *required* to have Flash installed.
Pretty freaking lame, AfterNic; you should drop this requirement.

Upon login you will be presented with three, yes three JavaScript alerts. that state.

You need Adobe Flash Player 8 (or above) to view the charts. It is a free and lightweight installation from Adobe.com. Please click on Ok to install the same.

23 Rockin HTML5 tools

Looks like the folks DesignModo are about as excited about HTML5 as we are. Great article!

"Are you aware that HTML5 is captivating the web by leaps and bounds? This new language is used for displaying the content on net. One can also add in audios, videos, various fonts, web graphics, drag and drop, animations to make your pages more colorful and informative. It is simply a renewed and much better version of the XHML1 or HTML4 and is also compatible to those versions.

Flash a major cause of virus infections on windows PC's

Submitted by jeff.everett on Wed, 12/28/2011 - 16:15

Recently Ed Bott (of ZDNET.com) wrote about common Windows security vulnerabilities.

As a IT "general contractor" I've had plenty of opportunities to remove virii and other malware from infected PC's, and I couldn't agree more that keeping all your 3rd party apps up to date is critical for security- the thing is, no one does, so Flash, PDF Viewer, and Java wind up being some of the most common (other than, of course, IE) sources of PC infection.
